What an assessment looks at
The metal, band thickness, stones, engraving and existing solder joints all matter. Many gold and sterling silver rings can be sized. Full eternity bands, tension settings, plated pieces and alternative metals may be unsuitable for a conventional resize.
What affects the repair cost?
Increasing a ring’s size can require matching metal. A wide band, a larger size change or work around stones adds complexity. A plain band and a stone-set ring should not be assumed to have the same price.
